In the world of online singing lessons there are two giants – Superior Singing Method (SSM) and Singorama. Both have their own advantages and downsides but when it comes to deciding between them, there can be only one true winner. Often, in the search for help online people “drown” in the sea of information, and since we already picked the two best platforms for you and reviewed them, it’s time to do a short comparison between them. Here we will give you most of the details about both courses side by side and a few tips in case you want to go with either one.
Ultimately, in the end, the choice is yours. Both options come with their own advantages and disadvantages. At times, this can boil down to personal preference and which method you find will be the most helpful based on how you prefer to learn. As an example, SSM offers instructional video singing lessons, while Singorama is an audio program.
Now, let’s learn more about what each program has to offer.
A Deeper Look Into What They Offer
Apart from the Superior Singing Method basic package, with which you get the “Superior High Notes” program, there is a Deluxe package which includes “Superior Vocal Health”, “Vibrato” and other guides and useful information, available only to the Deluxe users. The founder of SSM, Aaron Anastasi, claims that the videos, tips and exercises included in the Superior High Notes program are aimed to develop your ability to sing high notes with extreme accuracy.
Singorama, on the other hand, includes stuff like “Perfect Your Pitch”, the mini recording studio, a nice online metronome and “Jayde Musica Pro”. It also packs informational courses on how to read sheet music and recognize notes by listening to them.
It is hard to say which of the two has more features packed into it, but one thing is for sure – Superior Singing Method comes at a far lower price than Singorama. This might be deceitful, though, as the standard package doesn’t include as much as the one over at Singorama or the Deluxe SSM package.
Also, an important thing to mention here is that if you are a fan of video lessons, you can skip the rest of this comparison and simply get Superior Singing Method. It has amazing video lessons alongside all other mp3s and singing apps. That brings us to perhaps the biggest weakness of Singorama – that it lacks any videos, and therefore you can feel a bit disconnected from the actual learning process at times.
Overall, we found out that the issue with Singorama is that only those with some knowledge of singing can benefit from the course in its full potential. It sure has amazing features any singer will find useful, but Superior Singing Method just appeals more to the beginner’s side of the online audience. SSM has more content on proper warm-up exercises they are really second to none, and in our opinion those are an absolute must for any online singing course. This and more of Superior Singing Method features are covered in our detailed review. Superior Singing Method further packs stuff like breathing control, which is explained properly only on this online course.
Superior Singing Method vs. Singorama Comparison Chart
Both of these online singing courses share similar features, and in the end it will be entirely up to you to chose the more fitting one for your specific needs, but in case it helps, here is a comparison chart covering some of the most important features of the platforms:
|Superior Singing Method||Singorama|
|Suitable For Level||Beginner, Intermediate||Beginner, Intermediate|
|Ease Of Use||***||*****|
|Styles Covered||Jazz, Rock, Pop, Gospel, Classical||Not style-specific|
|Requirements||Windows, MacOS, Internet||Windows, MacOS, Interne|
Since we were quite divided among ourselves while reviewing these online courses, we decided to check if that was the case with other people who had tried these two in particular. A quick search showed us that the majority of people gravitate towards Superior Singing Method. As we said, the clearer and more detailed step-by-step reviews of SSM give it its edge over the competitor. It is only logical, since most beginners turn to the internet for advice.
What really makes this comparison hard, though, is the fact that each of these two touch on content not covered that much by the other. This means that there will always be two camps of people liking either one of the platforms. Singorama, for example has better and more entertaining features such as games and quests (as well as a mini-studio and a metronome) which can always spice things up for you if you feel that things have become repetitive. You can find out more information on Singorama’s features in our in-depth review on this singing course.
In terms of results, Superior Singing Method has definitely checked that box. According to some of our team members and people that we know that have used SSM, results show as early as the first few weeks, as with Singorama it takes quite a lot more time. That doesn’t necessarily speak about the quality of the lessons, but more so about the adequately explained instructions on each of SSM’s videos. That being said, some people (including me) think that Singorama just doesn’t offer enough insurance to justify its price. Perhaps this is the reason for the money back guarantee for the first 60 days, but then again, the guys at Superior Singing Method offer this as well.
All this doesn’t mean that Superior Singing Method is perfect. This course requires concentration, determination, and discipline. You have to strictly follow the instructions there to make any kind of progress. It just means that Singorama has a few little disadvantages more than SSM.
